- Prepare for the worst. While no one wants to consider what would happen if the Coronavirus was contracted by a parent or a child, it is important to have a plan in place in the event that it happens. This can include where the child would stay and where the parent would be quarantined.
- Decide places where your child can and cannot travel to, based on infected areas.
- Educate yourself so that you know the signs and symptoms of the virus as well as the safety measures to put in place. Symptoms can include a runny nose, dry cough, fever, or pneumonia.
- Hire a mediator. This is an unbiased third-party who can work with both spouses towards reaching agreements about temporary terms of child custody. The goal is that both former-spouses are able to live with the decision and is in the best interest of the child.
